What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Coordinator position at JamaicaCottage Shop, Inc.?
- Diligently manage shipping schedules.
- Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with clients, educate about delivery, and collect key data to be used to determine which truck and trailer to use for in-house deliveries.
- Prepare and review shipping documents to ensure accuracy.
- Successfully manage a fleet of trucks and CDL drivers and ensure the company is compliant with all federal and state laws.
- Proactively support and collaborate with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction and/or to preempt delivery issues.
- Document Driver Performance, route discrepancies, breakdowns, accidents, damage, and injuries.
- Continue to evolve and grow by keeping up to date with company, product, service, and industry information, policies, and processes.
- Collaborate with parent and sister companies during slower days where all trucks and drivers may not be out on the road to assist in any needs they may have.
- Review, adjust and help develop processes to make the department more efficient and organized.
Experience & Skill Requirements:
- High School degree / some college preferred; however, willing to give the right candidate an opportunity based on experience/skills.
- Proficient and comfortable in operating a computer as well as a variety of software applications and standard office equipment. Strong working knowledge of MS Office preferred. Typing is a MUST. SAP Business One ERP System is a PLUS (training provided).
- High level verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead a team and work with minimal supervision – manage tasks independently but can collaborate as a team member.
- Upbeat, courteous, and composed demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple tasks at once with efficiency. Ability to pivot quickly to shift focus when needed.
- Ability to interact professionally with customers, employees, vendors and all levels of management.
- Quick critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, excellent customer service and client relations skills, and great leadership and goal-setting skills.
