Overview
Under the supervision of the Director of Building Operations, the Facility Lead Staff will be responsible for organizing and maintaining the building and grounds maintenance and support at the James A. Michener Art Museum to the highest standards possible.
Duties
- Basic maintenance and repair of the following systems- HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Painting, Security, and Fire.
- Review departmental budget and payment requests for services and utilities.
- Schedule facility and event staff as needed per Museum activity and hours, and review job responsibilities for the schedule.
- Reviews Master Calendar activities to identify, review and support the various departments and programs of the Museum. Work as needed on set-up and breakdown of events both on and off-site, furniture moving (tables, chairs, supplies), hook-up and monitoring of A/V equipment and peripherals, receive, deliver and store supplies.
- Housekeeping of Museum. Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping and machine cleaning of all floor surfaces throughout complex. Dusting, wiping and scrubbing of all surfaces, cleaning and stocking bathrooms, removal of trash and recycling from all areas of museum and grounds, ensure roof surface and drains are clear and unobstructed, power washing and clearing of exterior spaces as needed, weeding and pruning.
- Surveys of Museum space to assure a safe, clean and well maintained campus. Observe and record conditions of Museum space and equipment, make correction of defective areas or log information for follow up, organize and maintain supplies and levels, equipment and spaces.
- Flexibility of working hours. Schedule may vary by Master Calendar activity. Opening and closing of the Museum and emergency call back as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience in building maintenance/housekeeping/stewarding, HVAC training is a plus.
- Basic computer skills- Email, Outlook, Word
- Good organizational skills, adept at multitasking, and great attention to detail.
- Must have collegial personality with the ability to develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with donors, volunteers, and staff.
- Ability to work on and use ladders and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Pay: $49,000.00 - $51,500.00 per year
