PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION
This position is a hybrid role as a presentation designer and event planner. As a presentation designer the candidate is responsible for designing, executing, and managing high quality presentations in support of corporate clients. The candidate should have a strong graphic design skillset and be able to create original templates from scratch as well as translate various types of information into compelling visuals. As an event planner the candidate will coordinate and execute all phases of meeting logistics planning including researching and securing venues, planning and managing our events' calendar, negotiating quotes and agreements with vendors, assisting with event marketing, monitoring timeframes and budgets, networking, and delivering on event brief objectives.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Marketing, Design, Communications, or Hospitality preferred
- Experience with event planning and full cycle seminar development/management
- Advanced presentation design experience
- Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint and Word), Canva, Articulate or similar e-learning authoring tool
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Bizzabo or similar event software, Active Campaign or similar email marketing technology
- Proficient in designing infographics, financial charts, tables, and graphs
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Highly motivated, organized, detail-oriented and autonomous self-starter who takes initiative and can thrive and problem solve under tight deadline
- Proficiency in various event software
- Positive and enthusiastic with good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well independently or in a team environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Available to travel
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform various event management tasks such as researching event venue possibilities, budgeting, negotiating with vendors, obtaining continuing education credits, handling sponsorships, and corresponding with event participants
- Manage on-site logistical support for events, handle registration desk, assist participants with requests
- Interact with external speakers and facilitators, production companies, DMCs in conjunction with events
- Comfortable and confident interacting with senior levels of management
- Design and execute custom presentations and proposals
- Design, layout, and maintain presentation deck templates
- Create company branded and custom charts, graphs, tables, icons, and other infographics
- Apply and update custom template(s) to presentations with consistency and technical formatting
- Determine the best look and feel for each presentation based on style guides, verbal art direction and an understanding of the subject matter
- Ability to work well under pressure
