Job Summary

The Process Technician provides technical expertise and hands on training within designated departments in manufacturing. Coordinates with Section Leaders, Product Launch and Product Development, and other key personnel on developing the skills needed for the assigned work center, with emphasis on safety, quality, and productivity. Acts as a technical resource for manufacturing’s training and development group.

This opportunity is located in Hondo, TX. The mid-shift schedule for this position is Monday - Thursday, 10:30 AM - 9:00 PM (4 - 10 hr. shifts).

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Provides orientation and guidance to new Associates as part of the Onboarding program.
  • With focus on safety, quality and productivity, trains manufacturing associates in the proper basic techniques needed to perform their daily tasks.
  • Works with other departments to help introduce and develop new technology improvements.
  • Assists with development and experimental plans, collects data on current manufacturing operations and conducts experiments to test process improvements.
  • Assists with integration of new product with attention to design integrity, production compatibility, product quality.
  • Assists the Product Launch process by facilitating training of techniques and essential skills needed to successfully support new product.
  • Routinely audits processes for integrity and accuracy within the designated work centers.
  • Coordinates with Section Leaders to help solve any process control issues that arise between departments.
  • Assists in achieving “On Time” delivery of new products, product changes, and conversions, to scheduled events.
  • Informs management of production process problems, productivity/quality concerns and equipment needs.
  • Conducts process and product audits as needed, to assess capability to meet best manufacturing practices.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrated technical process training skills or similar work experience in a manufacturing or relevant work environment.
  • Demonstrated performance and solid understanding of jewelry making process at a mass production scale.
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of equipment and processes needed to support training in the specific work center.
  • Knowledge and understanding of product quality standards.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously and manage frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to apply basic logic and understanding to carry out written, verbal or diagram form instructions.
  • Possess strong problem diagnosis skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as purchase orders, bill of ladings, sales orders, work orders/jobs packing lists and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence via email.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to communicate confidently and professionally with internal departments and customers.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be able to work flexible shift schedules when business need requires.
  • Ability to travel to other work locations as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with metal fabrication and forging.
  • Experience with monitoring and adjusting machine parameters, testing batch quality or reporting equipment malfunctions.
  • Knowledge of properties of precious metal alloys such as alloy compositions, melting temperatures, melting/solidification characteristics, metal working and heat treating.
  • Experience with tool and die making, stamping tooling fabrication, injection mold fabrication or precision machining.
