Position Overview: The Negotiating / Purchasing Manager will play a vital role in our procurement processes, leveraging strong accounting knowledge and residential construction expertise to drive cost savings and efficiency. This position requires a self-starter who can thrive in a remote work environment while effectively collaborating with internal and external customers, other managers, and company owners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Negotiate contracts and purchasing agreements with suppliers and vendors to secure the best pricing and terms.
- Analyze market data and accounting information to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising workflow or quality.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to forecast material needs and align budgets accordingly.
- Build, understand, analyze, and manipulate accounting and market data to inform purchasing decisions.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, budgets, and financial reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure a reliable supply chain.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management regarding financial strategies and purchasing efficiencies.
- Utilize spreadsheets, databases, and other computer systems to track and analyze purchasing activities and trends.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Preferred, but we also understand that experience is the better education.
- Proven experience in negotiating and purchasing within the residential construction industry.
- Strong background in accounting with a solid understanding of construction finance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, and other relevant software tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote work environment.
