General Operator (Fontana, CA)
The Generalist Operator is an integral member of the James Hardie Building Products team, responsible for working with machinery, raw materials, and other employees to create high quality building material fiber cement products. What are we looking for in a candidate?
- Stable work history
- Minimum of 1-year experience in a manufacturing or with large machinery equipment
- Ability to demonstrate past successes related to a manufacturing/production or support crew environment
- Understanding of safety policies to drive best in class to drive a Zero harm culture
As a Generalist Operator, the following tasks and job duties are included but not limited to:
- Assist in the efforts in wash-ups, housekeeping, 5S and continuous improvement throughout the plant, as needed.
- Assisting team members with any needs around the job
- Consult run plan with lead and understand daily plan
- Operate equipment as efficiently as possible.
- Fill out daily position inspection sheet and work boards; report any non-compliance items to lead.
- Perform quality checks to maintain our quality standards.
- Communicate all pertinent information of safety, quality, and mechanical issues to designated leads
As a manufacturing facility of fiber cement building products, the Operator will have to meet the following requirements.
- Ability to continuously stand, walk or sit
- Ability to bend, climb stairs, ladders and lift frequently
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds frequently
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to squat occasionally
