Middle School Science Teacher
James Irwin Charter Middle School is currently seeking a full-time Science teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. The successful candidate will have a 10-period day with four Science classes, one study hall and one elective period. Candidates are not required to have an education degree, be licensed or have prior teaching experience.

- Be highly qualified and be able to teach both earth, life, and physical science;
- Be familiar with and commit to using Direct Instruction (Siegfried Engelmann) methodologies;
- Be willing to work with a team of science faculty who provide consistent teaching methods and assessments throughout all science classes at JICMS;

- Monitor a study hall as assigned;

Minimum Work Experience and Education: JICMS follows the Colorado Department of Education requirements for Highly Qualified standards in hiring teachers of core subjects. Therefore, the successful candidate needs to show subject matter competency through at least one of the following:
- Earning an endorsement in the assigned field;
- Holding a degree in the assigned field;
- Passing a Colorado content test in the assigned field (e.g. PRAXIS);
- Earning 24 semester hours in the assigned field; or,
- Earning National Board Certification in the assigned field.
