General Responsibilities
The position is responsible for assisting the school Principal and Assistant Principal in the leadership, coordination, supervision, and management of the school program and operation.
Essential Tasks

- Assist the Principal and Assistant Principal in maintaining an effective educational program consistent with State and Federal guidelines and the School Board's mission, vision, and goals.
- Assist the Principal and Assistant Principal in transforming the school culture into a collaborative, mission-minded community.
- Develop and ensure the Board-approved Core Knowledge curriculum implementation using Direct Instruction teaching techniques.
- Assist the Principal and Assistant Principal in planning and implementing a professional development/growth program for teachers and assistants.
- Assist in planning and implementing a systematic method of supervising the instructional program through staff development, including teacher coaching, evaluation, and feedback conferences.
- Supervise, direct, and train teachers and instructional assistants.
- Assist the Principal and Assistant Principal in identifying students' special needs regularly, seeking the assistance of the Dean of Students and Special Education Team as required.
- Assist teachers in evaluating methods and materials and developing effective learning plans and classroom management techniques.
- Explain and interpret schoolwide curriculum/instructional goals and objectives to teachers, parents, and the community.
- Assist teachers with communication for parent meetings via in-person, phone, and virtual conferences.
- Support the Dean of Students in maintaining discipline throughout the student body.
- Maintain various files for training, pacing sheets, data sheets, and observations.
- Assist the Principal and Assistant Principal in preparing reports, as required.
- Model and maintain high standards of professionalism.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with all stakeholders.
- Perform related work as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Thorough knowledge of the practices, methods, and techniques used in the administration and supervision of all programs in a school; skill in oral and written communications; ability to motivate others to reach their fullest potential; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school officials, parents, students, teachers, teaching assistants, and support staff
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in education or related degree required
Minimum 3 to 5 years of classroom teaching experience preferred
Minimum of two years in a leadership role preferred
Pay
Full-time, $45,000/year (subject to change), 191 days
