General Information
JMU's Office of Residence Life invites applications for an Office Student Assistant. Successful candidates should be available to work 15-20 hours per week during the academic year. Optional summer 2025 employment is also available.
Duties and Responsibilities
Customer Service - Greeting guests, answering phones, and directing to appropriate resources.
Project Management - Assisting with office projects from various offices within the department.
Office Management - Prepare correspondence, make copies, and deliver documents to other offices and departments.
Qualifications
Conditions of Employment
Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
Students must have a 2.0 or better cumulative GPA.

- Demonstrated experience and skill in customer service
- Strong communication skills - verbal and written
- Basic Microsoft computer skills - excel, word, outlook, teams
- Ability to work independently
- 2.0 minimum GPA required to be employed by JMU
