James Martin Associates, Inc is seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Mechanic to support our Fleet Maintenance Program. In this role, you’ll contribute to the performance and reliability of our diverse fleet of landscape equipment, vehicles, and trailers—ensuring seamless operation for both landscape and snow services.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of equipment and vehicles, including trucks, SUVs, trailers, diesel engines, small engines, automatic transmissions, air brake systems, suspension, hydraulics, electrical systems, air conditioning, and computer systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, tune-ups, and inspections to extend equipment lifespan and minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with the fleet team, mechanics, and operations crew to resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and well-organized work environment.
- Pick up and delivery of parts
- Snow removal during winter months/snow season
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems (hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical).
- Proficiency with hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Competitive hourly wage: $18–$24 per hour
- 401(k) plan with company match (eligibility after 90 days)
