Weekend Breakfast Server/Bartender

Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic, early bird to oversee weekend service at the Blue Heron. Blue Heron is a 50 seat cafe serving a la carte breakfast in The James Newbury Hotel featuring a full bar. This person will be the server/bartender on Fri/Sat/Sun morning. Taking orders and making all beverages.

Duties

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and guest preferences.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including washing glassware and utensils.
• Engage with customers to provide outstanding service, taking orders, answering questions about the menu, and making recommendations.
• Restocking the bar at the end of each shift.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service of food and beverages.
• Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently using basic math skills.
• Work with the front desk team to process any hotel guest room charges, or breakfast vouchers.
• Uphold health and safety regulations in accordance with local laws and company policies.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the food industry or restaurant setting is preferred.
• Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest relations.
• Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Basic culinary knowledge is a plus.
• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Familiarity with sales techniques to promote specialty drinks or menu items is beneficial.
• Must be of legal drinking age as per local regulations.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.50 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 – 18 per week
