The special educator plans and provides individualized and specialized instruction that is an appropriate and rigorous learning experience for students with disabilities in a variety of educational settings. The professional in the position is responsible for creating a flexible program and learning environment that provides specialized instruction for students with disabilities, such that the students have opportunities to access the general education curriculum to the greatest extent possible when supported with supplemental aids, accommodations and program modifications
Must be certified by the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) as a Special Educator -Pre-K Early Childhood, or be immediate eligible for RIDE certification if currently certified in another state.
