As a Line Boring Welder, your more typical responsibilities will include:
- Welding and machining to perform line bore work
- Welding various types of metal and various welding processes
- Machining ferrous and non-ferrous materials, to tight tolerance specifications, per instructions and blueprint, utilizing a variety of machine shop equipment, including manual lathe, horizontal boring mill, vertical boring mill, horizontal saw, overhead crane, forklift and other related equipment & tooling.
Requirements include:
- Proven welding capabilities for various types of metals, and with various processes, specifically manual processing.
- Familiarity with operation of line boring and other machine tooling.
- Proficiency in the use of precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, and indicators, among others. Requires exercising good judgment and utilizing best machining practices. Requires attention to detail.
- High school graduate. 3-5 years of welding and machining experience desired, preferably in a repair or industrial equipment maintenance-related environment, though other industry experience will be considered.
Physical Requirements: Lifting/Carrying 40 lb. Lift/Carry and 50lb pulling. Standing/Sitting Up and downstairs, standing, sitting, and climbing into machines. Dexterity Normal. Repetitive Motions. Frequent movement requiring hands, wrists, and fingers.
