As a Mobile Lawnmower/Ready to Mow Technician, your more typical responsibilities will include:
- Performs basic diagnostics, maintenance and service repairs on customer owned turf equipment at the customer's residence
- Participates in Service Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
- Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
- Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment
- Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
- Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
- Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
Job Requirements Include:
- Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures
- Valid drivers license and good driving record required to operate fleet vehicles
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of turf equipment
- Ability to operate vehicles (16ft. cube van) and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
- Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
- Basic Service Technician certification preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
- Must have reliable attendance
- Ability to use basic computer functions
- Ability to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Demands
o Physical Effort: Mechanics constantly work on machines, which requires physical demands on a daily basis. They must be able to move on/under machines to perform repairs and services. They often have to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly without assistance. There will be occasions where small engine technicians must operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes as well. They frequently stand for long periods of time and often kneel, bend, lay on their backs, etc. to perform repairs, services, and/or maintenance.
o Working Conditions: Mechanics are constantly working to perform their tasks and duties. Work is performed on even surfaces on a hard floor. There is exposure to dirt, grease, fumes, cuts, bruises, strains, loud noises, etc. To combat these potential dangers and risk hazards, Small Engine Technicians must follow strict safety procedures, proper equipment safety, and PPE.
o Travel: Daily.
