James River Equipment is seeking a qualified Accountant to join our growing accounting team located in our corporate office in Ashland, Virginia. As a Staff Accountant, your more typical responsibilities will include:
- Perform detailed general ledger account reconciliations
- File compliance returns accurately and timely: business licenses, personal property, etc.
- Review financial statements to highlight potential issues
- Run reports, perform analysis, and communicate results
- Research, resolve, and manage accounting issues with minimal supervision
- Participate in other projects, analysis and duties as assigned
Current requirements include:
- Proven proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft applications (e.g., Teams, Sharepoint, Word)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Minimum of 2-5 years of general ledger accounting experience
- Self-starter with the ability to execute daily tasks under limited supervision
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment
- Experience with compliance filings a plus
