Physical Therapy Assistant- Home Health
Are you a physical therapy assistant committed to providing quality patient care? James River Home Health is growing and needs YOU! We are actively seeking a compassionate and highly committed Physical Therapy Assistant to join our growing team in the Fredericksburg area on a PRN Basis! You will be responsible for providing exercise instruction and patient education aimed at improving/enhancing the patient’s well-being while following the established plan of care on an intermittent basis in their place of residence. You will also coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure an optimal care experience for the patient!

A brief overview of Responsibilities:
Provide direct physical therapy according to directions of a physical therapist and by the physician’s plan of care
Direct and aid patient in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training, transfer activities, and prosthetic training
Utilize physical agents, including heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound, and massage
Instruct in use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devices
Observe and report to the physical therapist the patient’s reaction to treatment and any changes in condition
Ensure compliance with all state and federal legal and regulatory requirements
Additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
Must be a graduate of a Physical Therapy assistant school
Must be licensed or registered in Virginia.
One year of home health experience PLUS!
Must have current CPR Certification
