Overview
The Education Specialist assists in overseeing the day-to-day operations of JRELC in compliance with DHR, DECE, Head Start and Early Head Start Perforance Standards. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about education and dedicated to enhancing the academic and personal growth of children and teaching. The ideal candidate will possess a BS in Early Childhood, Family/Human Studies, a strong background in various educational methodologies, and will be committed to implementing effective lesson planning tailored to individual student needs.
Duties
- Collaborate with teachers to ensure that quality care and education is administered.
- Review assessment information to develop and implement lesson plans.
- Plans, directs and monitor instructional methods and content of educational and children.
- Ensure that classrooms records are completed and submitted in a timely manner.
- Reviews assessment information.
- Compiles reports for various program components.
- Assists with inventory, purchases, and distribution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Development, Special Education, or a related field
- Experience working with children in a classroom setting
- Knowledge of child welfare practices and policies relevant to educational settings
- Proficiency in lesson planning that addresses the diverse needs of students.
- Experience with management and staff training
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies based on individual student needs.
- Establishes a relationship of mutural trust and good communication with families
