What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Manager position at Jamestown Electro Plating?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Formulates and maintains quality assurance objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
-Develops in conjunction with process chemistry, processes that will meet customer specifications, and incorporates process specifications into the quality system.
-Develops and coordinates the maintenance of Quality Management System. Functions as the QMS Management Rep., coordinates QMS Management Review.
-Conducts product, process, and system audits.
-Analyzes and coordinates surface finishing problem solving.
-Establishes and coordinates plating standards and requirements. Provides customer product quality acceptance decision.
-Responsible for administering employee training, reviewing training needs, and developing training plans related to Quality Management System.
-Investigates the cause and coordinates resolution of customer complaints.
-Maintains reference files on all external customer and industrial specifications.
-Maintains all QMS and EMS manuals.
-Coordinates Customer and Registrar Audits of JEP Quality System.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Ability to interpret, understand, and implement the requirements of manufacturing specifications including ASTM, AMS, military, automotive, and customer specs.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to write clear, concise, process planning to meet customer requirements.
- Quality Management experience in an ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Proven experience in conducting quality audits, implementing quality control measures, and managing quality improvement projects.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to fabricate data, analyze trends, and identify areas for improvement
-Familiar with AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
-Knowledge of the National Aerospace and Defense Contractor Accreditation Program (NADCAP).
-Six Sigma/lean green belt or above.
-Experience in plating, metal finishing, and/or chemistry in an industrial environment.
-Experience with manufacturing inspection equipment (gauges, indicators).
-Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
