What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher, Grade 7 ELA - Long Term Substitute position at Jamestown School Department?
Long Term Substitute from April 14, 2025 through the end of the school year.To teach a comprehensive and challenging middle school English Language Arts course.1.Valid RI Certification: Secondary English with Middle School Endorsement (preferred), or Elementary Certification with Middle School Endorsement in English;2.Be "Highly Qualified" for this position as required by federal regulations under the No Child Left Behind Act;3.Successful experience and demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction and the use of technology to meet the learning of students of all abilities;4.Recent experience teaching English Language Arts at the middle school level;5.Evidence of highly effective use of technology in instruction, communication and data analysis;6.Willingness to participate in ELA curriculum and assessment development or selection work;7.Familiarity with Common Core State Standards for grades 7-9 in ELA 8.Knowledge of the RTI process9.Hold high standards and expectations for the achievement, work quality and growth of all students10.Understanding of the development of and experience teaching early adolescents11.Proven record of working successfully with a team of teachers to provide quality instruction for all students12.Evidence of analyzing and using date to improve instruction and achievement13.Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction and use technology to meet the learning needs of all students.
