The Installation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the installation and servicing of various Jamesway product lines. This position involves coordinating installation teams and ensuring quality control throughout the installation process. You must be capable of both leading a team and working independently. You will also play a crucial role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various equipment, machinery, or systems. This includes responding to service requests, conducting diagnostics, and performing necessary repairs to ensure the efficient operation of our equipment in the field.
This position requires extensive travel within the US and Canada. A valid passport and the ability to work in the US and Canada is required. Installation Supervisors are expected to travel up to 8 weeks at a time, with a subsequent 1-week rest period, to oversee projects or respond to service calls.
Essential Duties:
Project Planning:
- Collaborate with your manager and other stakeholders to understand project requirements.
- Follow installation schedules and plans, considering resource allocation and project timelines.
- Conduct regular site assessments to identify potential challenges and develop mitigation strategies.
Team Coordination:
- Be a working supervisor of project installation teams, including technicians and subcontractors.
- Allocate tasks, set priorities, and ensure effective communication within the team.
- Provide training and guidance to installation team members as needed.
Quality Control:
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure installations meet specified standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address any issues or deviations from project requirements.
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to continuously improve installation processes.
Diagnosis and Repair:
- Respond to service requests and troubleshoot reported problems.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify the root cause of malfunctions.
- Repair or replace defective components, parts, or systems as needed.
- Provide guidance to the customer’s maintenance staff.
Testing and Calibration:
- Conduct tests and inspections to ensure equipment functionality and accuracy.
- Calibrate equipment to meet specified performance standards.
- Document testing and calibration results.
Client Interaction:
- Communicate with clients to understand their expectations and address any concerns.
- Provide regular updates on project progress and address any issues promptly.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality installations and resolving any post-installation issues.
Resource Management:
- Execute on site time management ensuring the customer is meeting contractual requirements.
- Manage on-hand materials at the site and equipment required for installations.
- Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure timely availability of necessary materials or resources.
- Optimize resource utilization to meet project deadlines and budget constraints.
Administrative Tasks:
- Generate accurate and punctual: time, project progress or service visit reporting submission(s) for use by internal and external stakeholders.
- Make appropriate travel arrangements and submit expenses according to established procedures.
- Document lessons learned contributed to the improvement of installation processes.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position does not have direct reports.
- This position requires on site supervisory of Installation of new equipment. This is a working Supervisory position and must be able to lead and train as well as work with labor provided by others.
Knowledge & Skills:
- A valid driver’s license with a good driving record and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work and travel within the US and Canada, up to 8 weeks at a time.
- Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings and schematics.
- Proficiency in using common power tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Customer service-oriented with good communication skills.
- Ability to supervise and train an installation crew of varying skill levels.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping, documentation, and machine testing.
- Demonstrates willingness and ability to learn new products/skills as become available.
- Able to learn through on-the-job training.
Education and/or Experience:
- Technical or vocational training is ideal.
- Low voltage/electrical experience and troubleshooting skills are desired.
- Proven experience as a service technician, preferably in a related industry.
- Strong knowledge of general machine operation, maintenance, and repair.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
