JAMHI Health & Wellness, Inc. is seeking a dependable and flexible Medical Assistant to help out around the clinic on a relief basis. This role is client facing and requires someone with experience inputting data into a computer-based system. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for taking vitals, lab draws, EKG, answering phone calls, and relaying necessary information to the primary care provider. They will prepare rooms for the next client, collect and sort medical supplies as needed, and field client questions.
Members of our medical team work one-on-one with JAMHI clients, so the ideal candidate must be respectful of all people and comfortable working with those who have a severe mental illness. Due to the relief nature of this position, the ideal candidate for this position will have previous medical experience and is looking to pick up a few hours throughout the week.
Our Medical Assistant will be detail oriented, capable with various computer applications, and able to prioritize their time well.
Pay rates offered are determined based on a standardized scale that considers relevant experience and education.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a fast-paced customer service role
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Medical Assistant
- Experience working in an integrated medical and behavioral health setting or FQHC
All JAMHI positions require the ability to pass a criminal background check in accordance with the current state regulation requirements and a valid Alaska driver’s license and be able to clear the JAMHI auto insurance screening through the independent insurance carrier if driving.
