Janco Ltd. provides high-quality transportation solutions to clients in the live entertainment industry. Our company is looking for a reliable, highly-motivated person to join our Operations Department. You will assist in the various day-to-day logistics that are required to keep the show on the road. This can range from dispatching drivers, data entry, to communicating with clients. You will be responsible for handling incoming calls/emails and using various software tools to manage/distribute that information. The ideal candidate will be able to multi-task within a fast-paced, team environment.
Responsibilities
- Handle incoming calls/emails to the Operations department
- Communicate with drivers and clients throughout the day
- Monitor drivers progress and take proactive steps to keep them on track
- Dispatch drivers to ensure they have the necessary information to complete assignments
- Collaborate with staff to find efficient solutions to problems
- Provide after-hours support for drivers/clients
Qualifications
- Two or four year college degree
- At least two (2) years of transportation dispatch or logistics experience
- Proficiency with dispatching software (TMS)
- In-depth knowledge of Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) & Hours of Service regulations
- Familiarity with heavy duty tractor-trailer terminology

Organizational Skills: Dispatchers handle multiple tasks at once, from managing schedules to handling issues in real time. Being able to stay organized and prioritize tasks is crucial. Ensuring accuracy in dispatch, load details, route planning, and compliance with regulations requires a high level of attention to detail.
Communication Skills: Dispatchers need to effectively communicate with drivers, customers, and team members. Both verbal and written communication must be clear, concise, and professional. The ability to actively listen to drivers and other team members helps to quickly address any issues or concerns.
Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other logistics tools is essential for tracking assets, scheduling, and managing routes. Dispatchers often use mobile apps and communication systems to stay in touch with drivers and manage logistics in real time.
Driver Relationship Management and Coaching: Ability to assess and address driver behavior and attitudes to ensure positive and productive interactions, fostering a cooperative work environment. Dispatchers must be able to resolve conflicts between drivers, customers, or internal teams, in order to ensure smooth operations. Understanding and responding to drivers' concerns with empathy helps to manage stressful situations and creates the ideal conditions for problem-solving.
