What are the responsibilities and job description for the EQUITY OPTIONS FLOOR TRADER position at Jane Street?
About the Position
We are looking to hire an experienced Equity Options Floor Trader who can price and trade in a fast-paced environment, manage risk, maintain relationships with floor brokers, and coordinate floor trading with electronic trading teams.
You will join our floor trading team in Chicago but communicate daily with the New York Equity Options desk. We'll depend on you to relay what happens in real time on the floor, as well as what kinds of tools or systems you'll need to make your work more effective.
We're looking for someone who is passionate about this line of work and is eager to make an immediate impact. While this role is largely independent, you'll have opportunities to collaborate with the wider options team and other floor traders.

About You
- 5 years of options floor trading role experience with a focus in either equities or SPX
- Highly analytical thinker and proficient in probability and statistics
- Ability to build strong relationships and rapport with other members on the floor
- Reliable and flexible team player with a positive attitude
- Comfortable working and making decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Motivated self-starter who can handle competing priorities
- Describes detailed problems with brevity and accuracy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Eager to learn, adaptive, responsible
