Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance tasks, with a focus on both industrial and commercial spaces.
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in designated areas.
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
- Conduct floor care activities such as buffing and polishing to ensure surfaces are well-maintained.
- Handle custodial duties related to waste disposal, recycling, and sanitation.
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as needed, including minor repairs and upkeep of equipment.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies are stocked and organized for efficient use.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel promptly.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain high standards of cleanliness across all facilities.
Experience
- Previous experience in industrial cleaning or custodial work is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with commercial cleaning practices and equipment is a plus.
- Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and polishing is advantageous.
- Experience in facilities maintenance or porter duties will be considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.
