Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a Deputy Program Director to join our growing team.

This position is located on-site in Sedro-Woolley, Washington State. 

POSITION DESCRIPTION 

The Deputy Program Director position will play a pivotal role in supporting the Program Director within the enigneering team, ensuring effective coordination and execution of strategic initiatives. The Deputy Director will anticipate needs and demands of the Program Director and should have a natural aptitude for building strong, trusting partnerships across the engineering organization. The Deputy Program Director should be capable of carrying out multiple engineering-projects while effectively prioritizing tasks. This person will be a representative for the Program Director, collaborating with other engineering leaders and groups as needed.

The Deputy Program Director position requires a hands-on, self-motivated, intelligent individual who thrives in a fast-moving, dynamic engineering environment within a fast-changing organization. This position requires exceptional strategic thinking, strong business acumen, and the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of engineering operations and organizational dynamics.

The following essential functions of the position are:

  • Serve as a central point of coordination across departments, ensuring collaboration and communication is effective between executive leadership, department heads, and staff
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings, conferences, and special events by handling logistics and coordinating/preparing materials
  • Navigate complex organizational dynamics, both internally and externally interactions with diplomacy and strategic awareness.  While still fostering an open communication style to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Program Director and executive leadership, offering insights and recommendations for improvements in workflow, collaboration and budget optimization based on a thorough understanding of engineering and business operations
  • Act as a representative for the Program Director in external meetings as needed
  • Partner with executive leadership to develop and implement strategies that support long-term lead strategic plans, ensuring alignment between departmental and organizational goals. These will also include setting key performance indicators and monitoring progress towards goals
  • Make informed decisions and resolve issues by exercising sound judgment and communicating critical outcomes to the appropriate stakeholders. These decisions should align with the strategic objectives of the organization and can often be on behalf of senior leadership
  • Ensure the Program Director’s involvement in key engineering decision-making processes
  • Undertake and manage special projects of varying sizes and complexities as directed by senior leaders, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope
  • With minimal guidance, provide executive support, including managing priorities, scheduling, and delegating tasks when necessary
  • Handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism, always maintaining confidentiality

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).  Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering related field required; Master’s degree preferred
  • 4 years’ industry experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills should be a “self-starter” who is inquisitive, intuitive, and multi-tasked oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to distill complex information into clear and concise messages
  • Exceptional project management skills, with a proven track record of successfully managing and executing projects to meet deadlines preferred
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously utilizing efficient and effective time management skills
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion in dealing with confidential information

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

  • Salary range for this role is between $85,000 - $145,000, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
