Janigian Retina Associates is looking for a Full-time Front Desk Receptionist for our medical office in Providence, RI.
About us
Janigian Retina Associates is a sub specialty retina practice with 4 full time physicians and 1 part time physician serving all of Rhode Island. We treat patients with sight threatening diseases who require close monitoring. Our practice is based on close teamwork and communication between all staff and doctors in order to provide the best patient care possible.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to fill the role of medical receptionist for our rapidly growing ophthalmology practice. Patients, visitors and medical staff will turn to you for information and help with administrative issues. Our medical receptionist should be efficient and well-spoken with experience running a medical office. If you are patient, computer-savvy and can multitask, we’d like to meet you. Your goals will be to ensure the smooth workflow of our medical facilities and to perform a variety of tasks, so that our patients receive the best possible care.
Some satellite travel will be required.
Job Requirements:
·Must have medical reception experience.
·Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties.
·Ability to work independently and as a team member.
·Must be detail oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
·Must be organized, detail oriented, and have excellent communication skills.
·Must be able to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Responsibilities
- Receive and assist patients as needed
- Maintain detailed patient and medical records
- Manage office communications (e.g. phone, correspondence)
- Schedule medical appointments
- Work with insurance companies to process claims
- Assist with billing processing as needed
- Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
Skills
- Proven experience as a medical secretary or similar position in a medical office for a minimum of 1 year
- Knowledge of medical terminology, regulations and medical office procedures; knowledge of medical coding is strongly desired
- Knowledge of medical billing, prior authorizations, claim follow up
- Knowledge of MS Office, databases and EHR systems
- Outstanding communication skills
- Patience and discretion
- Organizational and multitasking skills
