What are the responsibilities and job description for the Merchandising Assistant position at Jannine Abadi Associates?
Growing Menswear Brand is looking for an Assistant Merchandiser to join the team in their NYC office. 3 days a week in office.
Requirements:
Ability to Manage the Data Input and Maintenance of the Following:
- Communicating with mills and other suppliers
- PLM (Product Lifecycle Management System) maintenance (ensuring all styles have mandatory fields entered by overseas: Material Content, Partner, COO, MOQ, etc.) and if not, requesting information to complete
- Update Style BOM’s (Bill of Materials) as Applicable
- Actual On Order Entry to Recap for Team Analysis
- Sample request reports for overseas office Business Leads
Other Responsibilities:
- Helping to create mood, shape and trend boards for specific brands
- Research New fabrics and trimmings ideas Contribute ideas during the development of new clothing ranges
- Helping to coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and production
- Ability to look at an inspirational image and suggest an existing block to work off of to make the first sample to match the tear.
- Market research & Competitive Analysis – reporting on what’s in stores and .com or incoming trends
- Maintaining and updating digital design libraries
- Organize and maintain collections after it is worked with, putting ranges back in their original order
- Input Packaging Requests to Package Design Team
Requirements:
- 1-2 years' experience in Wholesale Merchandising (Menswear a plus)
- Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint Proficiency.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Prior Experience with a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system is a plus
Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
