Key Qualifications

• Must be experienced at cleaning with a keen eye for details and be aware of safety.
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness & safety throughout designated areas.
• Ensure that all equipment is clean and in working condition at all times.
• Remove trash & soiled linens. Must be able to lift to fifty (50) pounds
• Respond to emergencies in relation to cleaning a medical environment
• Clean and wipe windows, floors, etc.
• Dispose of wastes in wastebaskets as well as clean the wastebaskets
• Appropriately dispose of medical waste products like syringes, hand gloves, face mask, sachets of tablets, etc.
• Dust furniture as well as equipment
• Wipeout blood or other body fluids and then disinfect the area of contact
• Use various types of cleaning equipment, like vacuum cleaners, washing machines, etc.
• Document the procedure involved in the disposal of medical waste products, and ensure that the right procedure in line with the standard practice of a hospital, is followed.

Description

The candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to navigate a highly optimized and specialized environment where priorities may shift daily while working autonomously, taking initiative, and complete tasks you are responsible for. You will have a deep background in reporting standards and norms, compliance, strong written and verbal communication, and a deep understanding of the custodial landscape. In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring that standard precautions of safety in a health facility are strictly complied with and is detailed to ensure that cleaning chemicals are used as prescribed. Will be constantly briefed to ensure that storage rooms for medical supplies are always in a clean state, and to ensure that the medical facility never runs out of housekeeping materials like soaps and paper.

Education & Experience

• Valid California driver’s license
• Janus sites are health care facilities. All employees must respect the absolute confidentiality of the patients using Janus services and abide by all federal, state and local laws and regulations pertaining to confidentiality.
• Good organizational skills as well as strong hygienic practice
• Mathematical skills needed to mix cleaning agents appropriately in accordance with the prescription of the manufacturer
• The ability to take the initiative
• Knowledge of the process of sterilizing equipment
• Proven ability and/or inclination to follow instructions
• Ability to maintain a positive disposition at all times
• The ability to work under exposure to dust
• A certificate proving completion of high school is necessary
• The ability to maintain an open mind to the acquisition of new skills and knowledge while on the job, especially the use of chemicals and understanding of basic safety procedures
• The ability to take the initiative where and when necessary that is leadership skill
• Effective interpersonal skill
• The ability to communicate effectively in writing
• Problem-solving skill
• Ability to work as part of a team
• The ability to be punctual always
• Basic understanding of how to carry out plumbing and electrical repairs.
• Bilingual preferred (ideally Spanish)

Pay & Benefits

At Janus, base salary is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $23.00 and $24.00 per hour and your base pay will be considered on your job-related skills, training, qualifications, experience, and relevant education.
