Location: This is a hybrid role that requires on-site work at Naval Station Norfolk (NAVSTA Norfolk), Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Shipyard in Newport News, VA, and the Headquarters (HQ) in Virginia Beach, VA with 50% remote work from home.

Objective:
The HVLE System Administrator provides IT services, logistical support, and maintenance in support of High Velocity Learning Environment (HVLE) Training Systems.
System Administrators are responsible for overseeing all network activities within the training system facility. System Administrators work closely with Logistic Manager, Information System Security Manager, and PMO to make sure all projects are on track according to contract specifications.
Responsibilities:
- With limited or general supervision, process scheduled IT routines, respond to computer output instructions or error conditions, apply standard operating or corrective procedures;
- Complete IT system configuration updates for multiple disconnected/stand-alone networks;
- Complete documentation associated with the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements and processes to support the Navy RMF process;
- Complete network vulnerability scanning with Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS);
- Complete compliance updates within eMASS;
- Perform SCAP/STIG review and/or testing as assigned when updates are released;
- Create Microsoft Group Policy Objects (GPO) and be able to troubleshoot and administer GPO settings;
- Create, update, and troubleshoot user profiles, accounts, and passwords;
- Monitor networks to ensure security and availability to specific users:
- Identify user needs;
- Control, maintain custody, safeguard, or dispose of information in accordance with prescribed procedures;
- Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, switches, software deployment, software security updates and patches;
- Assist instructor staff with the use of the training system;
- Control access to facilities and information systems while maintaining records of visitors to the training system;
- Conduct daily system start-up and shutdown procedures;
- Setup and breakdown training systems, equipment, and facilities as required;
- Support hardware lifecycle management;
- Support software version management;
- Perform scheduled inventories and report results;
- Perform required Preventive Maintenance and authorized Corrective Maintenance;
- Maintain and update policy-based documentation;
- Support network performance planning;
- Support network capacity planning;
- Conduct component warranty monitoring;
- Evaluate and modify systems performance;
- Review and document security assessments of computing environments;
- Assist ISSE and ISSM with quarterly and annual audit reviews and reporting;
- Create and distribute reports related to the Training System;
- Able to work in varying temperatures, depending upon seasons. Performs duties both indoors and outdoors;
- Attend meetings with senior and lower-level government and contract teams in support of Carrier-Advanced Reconfigurable Training System (C-ARTS) operations, sustainment, and security.
Employment Status:

Qualifications:
- Minimum Associates Degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering
- Documented proof of formal education/training or certification in Windows 10 OS.
- Minimum of four years of employment experience as an IT System Administrator or Network Engineer.
- Position is designated IAT-II in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M; IAT-II equivalent or higher vendor certification will be accepted.
- Possess current Security or other baseline IAT II DoD 8570.01-M certifications.
- Position is designated IT-II (Non-Critical Sensitive) in accordance with SECNAVINST 5510.30 (series).
- Possess a valid motor vehicle operators license and a satisfactory operating record.
- Possess basic maintenance skills and knowledge.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Possess or have the ability to obtain Red Cross Adult First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
- Ability to evaluate problems and recommend solutions.
