Job Description:
The Sponsor's office conducts collection of information that addresses key questions related to national-level requirements. We require subject matter expertise in development and maintenance of collection platforms tailored to a variety of sources. This role leverages knowledge of IT systems and networks, cloud-based computing, network management platforms, scripting or programming products, and configuration scripts in support of Sponsor activities.
As a Systems Engineer, you will assess unique source network configurations and devise tailored collection solutions to ensure continuous collection, monitor solution status to prevent data interruptions, diagnose faults and implement remedies when needed, coordinate with in-house data repositories for automated data transfer, and interface with users to ensure data accessibility and proper formatting.
Mandatory Skills:
- Demonstrated experience leveraging a background in programming, software tools and packages, operating systems, and networking to solve collection needs in cloud environments
- Demonstrated experience with the ability to listen and transcribe from mission need to technical requirements
- Demonstrated experience with the ability to reflect back an understanding of the mission need described and convey how a technical solution will deliver mission results
- Demonstrated experience prioritizing work based on mission need
- Demonstrated experience with assessing project requirements and making informed recommendations
- Demonstrated experience with Python
- Demonstrated experience with Linux shell scripting
- Demonstrated experience building Docker containers and images
- Demonstrated experience with cloud services including Lambda Functions and Layers, S3, EC2, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, IAM Roles, and Container services
- Demonstrated experience using AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK). CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar are not substitutes for CDK experience
- Demonstrated experience transforming data in various file formats into common formats such as json, csv, or xml
- Demonstrated experience working with application developers to identify and implement infrastructure and deployment requirements

- Demonstrated experience with multiple cloud providers
- Demonstrated experience with video processing and formatting
