Senior Database Administrator / Cloud Systems Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator with strong systems administration background and multi-cloud expertise. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing databases across Microsoft Azure and AWS environments, while possessing broad technical knowledge in systems administration, DevOps practices, and security protocols.
Primary Job Duties
Design, implement, and maintain database systems across multi-cloud environments (AWS and Azure)
Perform database administration tasks including backup, recovery, and optimization
Manage and optimize database performance, security, and integrity
Implement and maintain DevOps processes and automation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Develop and maintain documentation for database processes and procedures
Participate in system design and architecture planning
Support security compliance and audit requirements
Mandatory Skills and Experience
Strong experience with major database platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, ELK)
Proven experience in multi-cloud environments (AWS and Azure)
Expertise in database backup, restoration, and integrity verification
Experience with database optimization, merging, and upgrades
Proficiency in Linux environments (CentOS, RHEL) and ESX
Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux, and OSX operating systems
Experience with DevOps tools (Jenkins, GitHub)
Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium)
Development experience in JavaScript, Springs, or Hibernate (HQL)
Demonstrated ability to work in secure environments
Strong communication skills with ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels

AWS Certified Database Specialist certification
SQL Certification
Python programming and AWS Lambda experience
Experience with service management tools (ServiceNow, JIRA)
Proficiency in data analysis and visualization
Experience with security tools (XACTA, Rapid 7, Web Inspect)
Knowledge of Agile development and Project Management Framework
Experience with IT service delivery processes
Strong technical documentation skills
Experience with sponsor security policies and procedures
