Systems Administrator

Job Description

As a Linux Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining Linux servers in an enterprise environment. You will utilize configuration management tools to ensure consistent and reliable server deployments while troubleshooting issues and working directly with customers to resolve problems. You will also be responsible for ensuring systems meet organizational compliance requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing Linux Servers (RHEL, CENTOS) in an enterprise environment
• Using deterministic configuration management tools (Puppet, Ansible)
• Monitoring system resources and processes via Linux command line
• Troubleshooting Linux issues (networking, file systems, repositories, configuration files, etc.)
• Working with customers to identify and resolve issues
• Provisioning and operating Linux servers or virtual machines in accordance with organizational compliance requirements

Note: There is a site suitability requirement; Last polygraph must be within 5 years.

Mandatory Skills

• Demonstrated expertise managing Linux Servers (RHEL, CENTOS) in an enterprise environment
• Demonstrated expertise using deterministic configuration management tools (Puppet, Ansible)
• System monitoring experience (memory, processes) via Linux command line (using commands such as top and ps)
• Demonstrated Linux troubleshooting skills (networking, file systems, repositories, configuration files, etc.)
• Ability to work with customers to identify and resolve issues
• Demonstrated expertise provisioning and operating Linux servers or virtual machines in accordance with organizational compliance requirements

Desired Skills

• Experience scripting in Bash, Ruby or Python
• Demonstrated expertise with Continuous Integration and Continuous Testing
• Familiarity with VMWare and RAID configurations
• Familiarity with DISA STIG, MITRE CVE list, NIST IAVA list and other security guidance
• Certifications (any or all of the certifications listed):
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator
  • Red Hat Certified System Engineer
