What are the responsibilities and job description for the Systems Engineer - Herndon VA position at Janus Soft Inc?

Job Duties :

Support and maintain two operational environments for penetration testing teams
Manage automated build release of operating systems and tools
Perform security scans, patch management, and maintain security controls
Maintain GitLab-based software tool repository
Maintain system program plans for stakeholder awareness
Perform routine backups and maintain offline archives
Set up demonstration / evaluation / test environments
Integrate software tools into supported baselines
Develop and maintain system documentation and processes

Mandatory Requirements :

System administration experience with Linux and Windows servers / workstations

Experience with physical and virtual environment installation and maintenance

Expertise in infrastructure services (DHCP, NTP, DNS, backup)

Experience with account management (LDAP, Active Directory, MFA)

ACL maintenance and audit review capabilities

Virtual infrastructure administration (VMware, Proxmox, VirtualBox)

Strong documentation skills for system processes and tools

Experience writing System Security Plans (SSPs)

Requirements and architecture documentation experience

Medical clearance required for High Risk Role designation

Desired Requirements :

AWS experience (VPCs, accounts, instances)

Ansible automation experience for OS and tool package delivery

Experience setting up virtual firing ranges and CTF exercises

Database management and data stewardship

VISIO proficiency for network documentation

Microsoft Project experience

Dashboard development using open-source frameworks

Experience with system inventory and scanning services

Agile team experience

JIRA project tracking expertise
