Job Description
The Website Manager is responsible for overseeing the website strategy, leveraging data-driven insights to make technical improvements and updates to the site, interfaces, UX development, that will generate positive KPI results. The website manager should have a solid understanding of website and mobile optimization, SEO/SEM, analytics, and brand cohesion. HTML, CSS, Javascript and Adobe Creative Suite proficiency are a must. Additionally, the Website Manager is responsible for Japan Society’s growing initiatives in digital marketing (PPC) on Google Ads and Reddit. As the website manager, technical expertise, excellent project management skills, flexibility in working across multiple projects concurrently, with an ability to shift priorities when needed, are critical.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Work with the Director to develop strategies for continuous website improvement and optimization. Think strategically, innovatively, and creatively using sound business judgment and quantitative skills.
Develop content and manage edits to Japan Society web properties, ensuring design and copy meet Japan Society’s standards.
Contribute to digital content planning overall, ensuring that all website content is timed to complement and align with marketing emails, social media, and program initiatives.
Drive and implement recommendations on page design, editorial content organization, navigation, and user experience.
Implement SEO, keyword research, and content optimization strategies to increase web analytics (page traffic, time spent on page, etc).
Work with external vendors and internal stakeholders on supporting, maintaining, and enhancing the website; Actively project manage site functionality updates and design overhauls as they arise.
Provide expertise and guidance to program departments around website initiatives.
Manage PPC digital marketing campaigns in Google Ads and Reddit; perform keyword research and analysis to optimize campaign targets.
Manage the analytics of web properties (Google Analytics, Ticketure, etc.), using data-driven insights to make recommendations and optimizations.
Manage the Bloomberg Connects museum companion app, including asset and content management, analytics insights, and liaising with Bloomberg Philanthropies.
Support organization-wide ticketing and registration platform, including asset and content management for ticketing pages, confirmation email management, and other technical initiatives as required.
