Position Summary for BIM Manager :
As the BIM Manager, you will oversee all Building Information Modeling processes and standards. You will collaborate with internal teams—engineering, project management, and field operations—to develop, coordinate, and manage accurate and efficient 3D models for HVAC and Mechanical systems including Hydronic systems. Your expertise in BIM technology and workflow will be critical in ensuring on-time project deliverables and maintaining high-quality design and documentation.
Key Responsibilities for BIM Manager :
- Establish and maintain company-wide BIM standards, protocols, and best practices specific to HVAC and mechanical systems.
- Develop, implement, and improve workflows, guidelines, and documentation for all BIM processes.
- Lead the development of coordinated BIM models, focusing on ductwork, piping, and mechanical equipment layouts.
- Oversee clash detection, conflict resolution, and integration of HVAC and mechanical models with other trades.
- Ensure all project deliverables meet quality and accuracy standards, adhering to project deadlines.
- Supervise and mentor BIM Specialists, modelers, and support staff.
- Conduct ongoing training sessions to develop internal expertise in BIM software (e.g., Revit, CAD) and processes.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing of best practices, workflows, and software updates across departments.
- Coordinate with project managers, design engineers, and field teams to align modeling efforts with project requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact regarding BIM-related inquiries and problem-solving.
- Participate in design review meetings, providing input on model accuracy and constructability.
- Review BIM models for compliance with project requirements, detect potential mechanical system issues early, and recommend solutions.
- Manage and maintain project documentation, version control, and data exchange platforms to ensure data integrity.
- Identify and implement emerging technologies, software, and hardware to enhance BIM capabilities.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to existing BIM infrastructure and processes, leading change initiatives where needed.
