Job Description: ReadyMix Driver at Taft Plant

Position Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and skilled ReadyMix Driver to join our team at the Taft Plant. The ideal candidate will have a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record and experience operating a concrete mixer truck. As a ReadyMix Driver, you will be responsible for transporting and delivering concrete to various construction sites safely and efficiently, while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and drive a concrete mixer truck to transport ready-mixed concrete from the Knowlton Plant to designated construction sites following assigned routes and delivery schedules.

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck to ensure its safe and efficient operation, reporting any mechanical issues or concerns to the maintenance team.

• Perform basic maintenance tasks on the mixer truck, such as checking fluid levels, fueling, and cleaning as needed.

• Safely load and unload ready-mixed concrete at construction sites, ensuring the delivery is accurate and in compliance with customer specifications.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the mixer truck's interior and exterior, including the drum and peripherals, to prevent concrete buildup and maintain equipment longevity.

• Understand and follow all safety guidelines and traffic regulations to ensure personal and public safety while on the road and at construction sites.

• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and coworkers to provide updates on delivery status, confirm order requirements, and address any concerns or issues that arise during the delivery process.

• Solve basic mechanical problems that may occur on the job, such as chute clogs or minor equipment malfunctions, ensuring minimal disruption to the delivery schedule.

• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, documentation, and customer service.

Requirements:

• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements and a clean driving record.

• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating a concrete mixer truck or similar heavy equipment.

• Knowledge of concrete batching, mixing, and transporting processes is preferred.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

• Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic regulations.

• Ability to follow directions and adhere to delivery schedules.

• Strong communication and customer service skills.

• Physical ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) and work in various weather conditions.

• Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
