Duties / Responsibilities :

Define and implement purchasing strategies.
Build along with maintain relationships with suppliers.
Monitor performance of suppliers by assessing their ability to meet quality, delivery, and cost requirements.
Research as well as develop alternative solutions resulting from component shortages or discontinuation.
Develop new supply sources where current suppliers are inadequate.
Identify and qualify new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
Negotiate and implement long term contracts with suppliers.
Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Requirements : Skills / Abilities :

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with proven ability to create as well as maintain relationships with suppliers.

Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks and to delegate tasks when appropriate.

Strong supervisory and leadership skills with ability to effectively train others.

Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Understanding of business and management principles.

Thorough understanding of materials and supplies used in the company.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) or related software.

Education and Experience :

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or 5 years in a technical related field is preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of Purchasing or Supply Chain Management in a manufacturing environment required.

Travel Required :

50% travel expected for this position within the United States and internationally.
