What we are looking for:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Data Analyst to join our finance FP&A team working onsite out of our HQ in Troy Mi. In this finance role, you will analyze financial data, develop forecasts, assist with budgeting processes, and provide insights to support strategic decision-making. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to interpret and translate financial data into actionable business insights to drive optimal business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
· Data Analysis & Reporting:
o Prepare analyze and interpret regular financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
o Develop dashboards and visualizations to communicate key financial metrics to stakeholders.
o Develop data-validation rules and exception reporting to ensure of solid data-integrity of financial data and full compliance with GAAP.
· Financial Modeling & Forecasting:
o Assist in the development of financial accounting models to forecast business performance and inform strategic decision-making.
o Analyze trends, variances, and forecast data to provide insights into future performance.
o Help manage the budgeting and forecasting processes by working closely with key stakeholders.
· Performance Tracking & Benchmarking:
o Monitor financial performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks.
o Identify areas of opportunity or concern (proactive not reactive) and provide actionable recommendations to management.
o Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing for financial projections.
· Data Integration & System Support:
o Assist with the integration of financial data into various financial planning and analysis (FP&A) systems.
o Collaborate with IT teams to optimize data collection and reporting tools.
o Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data used for analysis and reporting.
· Ad-Hoc Financial Analysis:
o Conduct special projects and ad-hoc financial analyses as required by leadership.
o Perform cost-benefit analysis to assess the financial impact of new initiatives or investments.
Skills & Qualifications:
· Education: Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting or a related field. Need a complete and solid knowledge of Accounting & Finance and relational databases.
· Experience:
o 2-4 years of solid accounting experience. Complete understanding of financial statements, financial data analysis (FP&A) , or related roles in management accounting
o Strong experience with relational database, financial modeling, forensic accounting, forecasting, and reporting.
· Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, macros).
o Experience with financial accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, SAP, NetSuite QuickBooks, etc.) and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) a must-have.
§ Experience specifically with Sage Intacct and Power BI a definite plus
o Experience with SQL and/or other data analysis and table mapping tools is a plus.
· Analytical Skills:
o Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
o Ability to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in financial data.
o Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
· Communication Skills:
o Ability to communicate complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner to non-financial stakeholders.
o Strong written and verbal communication skills.
o Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Salary : $60,000 - $85,000
