Electrical Engineer – Certifications & Applications

This is a remote position that requires domestic travel to customer sites. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with power electrical engineering products and the UL Certification to Approval processes.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing testing and analysis of manufacturers submitted product to determine conformance with industry standards, such as UL.
- Maintain detailed documentation, including BOMs, wiring diagrams, and compliance reports
- Provide direction, consultation, and support for internal and external customers, sales teams and project management teams on various projects
- Confer with engineering staff and other personnel to identify and resolve problems with the design or implementation.
- Preparation of documentation, written reports and other complex tasks associated with third party certification requirements
- Administer project proposals which includes, defining the scope of the testing and analysis, and estimated timeframe for completion and certification approvals
- Preparing technical reports; effectively interpreting and communicating tests results to clients and management team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in design engineering related to switchgear, power generation equipment, or similar
- Expertise with UL certification approval processes for power generation & distribution products entering the USA is required
- Experience working with National Recognized Testing Lab
- Demonstrated ability to apply project-handling concepts in use in areas of expertise, including application to complex, new, or modified products in the field
- Projects include frequent travel to conduct on-site product evaluations.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial and commercial power distribution, control panel design, and regulatory compliance.
