About the Company - JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.
About the Role - The Air Freight Manager will be responsible for Airfreight operations and negotiations of airfreight export with carriers and growth in volume of Import and Export traffics at the national level, while also managing 4 gateways across the US (LAX, ATL, DFW, NYC). The AFM will support to Sales department and Operational department with the selling of the Export Air Freight and with the reiterated or critical problems in the operation of the product (Import and Export)
Responsibilities -
- Responsible of statistics for the AF in the country.
- Responsible in the relationship with IATA at National Level and fulfill with the operational requirements of IATA.
- Responsible for all operations duties and properly file administration customer services solutions related to the Air Freight traffic.
- Awareness to key export & import vertical market in order to work closely with M&S development.
- To check profit and loss development in Air Export Product.
- To support in carrier negotiation, services for export in according with the local sales and regional contract.
- To participate in contribute in meeting the targets set for major export air trade lanes in cooperation with M&S and OPS into the country.
- To actively drive growth and profitable export air business development.
- To support the sales Team to achieve the growth targets.
- To be involved in setting up budget guideline for the country in Air Freight Product.
- To support the achievement of Export Air Volume in accordance to the Country Budget.
- Work closely with partners and Sales Team to define necessary product to achieve the targets budgeted.
- Allocation achievement performance with the carrier’s on Export Air.
- To Work in accordance to the compliance rules and policy.
- Cooperate closely with the Operational Department to support them with reiterated or critical problems in the operations of the air import and/or export.
- Relation with customers and Carriers.
- Visit to customers and potential customers together with the Sales Team for technical purposes.
- Work closely with Partners and Sales Team on the identification and development of new business and opportunities in Export Airfreight into the country, Regional business and in the design tailored solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in transportation, ocean freight or international business preferred or equivalent.
- Must have 5 years handling air freight product
- Must have 3 years working with Gateways
- Knowledge and experience in Air freight Operations duties (IMPORT & EXPORT).
- Knowledge in planning and cost control in Air Freight Product.
- Marketing & Sales orientated capabilities and business developing.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
- Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines
- Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently
- Effective leading a team in multiple states/regions
