The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving front line sales and meeting assigned quota for the territory they handle. Job Title : Inside Sales Engineer Job Type : Exempt Department : Sales Location : Houston Employment Type : Full-Time Reports To : Group President Job Overview : The Inside Sales Engineer will act as a technical expert and sales support specialist, bridging the gap between the customer and our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background with proven experience in municipal water and or manufacturing, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to drive revenue by understanding customer needs and providing tailored solutions. Key Responsibilities : Sales Support & Customer Engagement Serve as the primary technical resource for the sales team, addressing technical inquiries and providing accurate, timely information. Understand customer requirements, recommend appropriate products or solutions, and provide detailed proposals and quotations. Collaborate with the outside sales team to develop and execute strategies for new business opportunities. Proactively engage with customers to build relationships, address concerns, and identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling. Technical Expertise & Solutions Development Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to customers and internal teams. Interpret customer specifications and technical drawings to identify suitable products or solutions. Develop customized solutions based on client needs, including product configuration, system integration, and value-added services. Stay updated on product advancements, industry trends, and competitive offerings to ensure the best possible customer solutions. Documentation & Reporting Prepare technical documentation, pricing, and proposal presentations for customer meetings. Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and opportunities in the CRM system. Contribute to regular sales forecasts and reports to monitor performance against targets. Qualifications : Minimum 3-5 years in a technical sales or sales engineering role. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Technical Sales, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered. Technical Knowledge : Strong understanding of capital equipment, sales and sales cycle, and manufacturing / fabrication Sales Acumen : Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and meeting / exceeding sales targets. Communication Skills : Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities with a focus on customer engagement. Tools Proficiency : Experience using CRM software (e.g., SAP, Salesforce) and technical drawing tools (e.g., AutoCAD). Must possess valid driver’s license Willingness to travel 25% of the time Key Competencies : Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
