What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director of Housekeeping position at JASPER GENERAL HOSPITAL?
The primary purpose of this position is to assist in supervising the day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping Department in accordance with Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility and as may be directed by the Director of Housekeeping to assure the our facility is maintained in a clean, safe and comfortable manner.
Daily Job Responsibilities:
ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS:
Supervise the day-to-day housekeeping functions of Housekeeping and Laundry personnel.
Make any changes, write up an employee’s progressive discipline or terminate any employee as needed.
Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing service when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.
Making rounds throughout day to assure that housekeeping / laundry staff are performing required duties.
Assist the Director in scheduling work assignments, preparing cleaning schedule, etc.
Assure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical.
Perform administrative requirements in the absence of the Director (such as completing work schedules, invoice approval, ordering supplies and / or linens etc.)
Monthly reports (linen count totals and laundry washed (lbs) totals).
Submit accident/incident reports to the Director on the shift in which they occur.
Counsel/manage assigned personnel as requested or as necessary. Report such actions to the Director.
Review and evaluate the work performance of assigned personnel. Make recommendations to the Director.
Conduct housekeeping audits (such as checking resident rooms after being cleaned by housekeeper.)
Inspection of cleaning areas made daily. Inspection is to be used as a teaching tool.
