LPN-Summerland Manor Assisted Living

Full Time Day Shift Position/12 Hour shift

Position is responsible for review, maintenance, and oversight of all medical records; storage, administering , and ordering of medications; checking and recording vital signs and other medical statistics as ordered by physicians; oversight of resident nutrition and special diets; oversight of restorative therapy; and oversight of housekeeping functions in regard to safety and infection control.

• Ensure that nursing services are provided in compliance with the MS State Board of Nursing regulations
• Coordinate admittance and daily medical care with resident's physician and ensure all eligibility requirements are met and documented
• Maintain resident's complete medical record following established procedures and incompliance with HIPPA guidelines.  Receive fax, phone and written physician orders and chart as well as nursing notes according to protocol.
• Receive, document, store, order and administer resident medications as ordered by their physicians
• Coordinate physician visits, foot clinic, lab, PT, OT, X Ray orders, arrange transportation for local service and document
• Perform and document TB skin tests and coordinate employee physicals with JGH staff
• Develop individual plan for resident's ADLs, coordinate with and oversee attendants who implement planned ADLs
• Work with physical therapy, occupational therapy and physicians to plan, implement and oversee restorative therapy
• Coordinate regular and special diets with dietician and oversee kitchen staff in providing diets
• Complete accident/incident reports and follow established procedures for follow up and reporting
• Ensure adequate supplies of floor stock medications
• Dispose of drugs and narcotics as required and in accordance with established procedures
• Oversight of housekeeping, dietary, and attendant functions in regard to safety and infection control including MSDS
