General Summary of the Position
Works with process engineering to create requisition packages for procurement functions and review client/company standards for development of gas processing plants. This role requires strong technical expertise in mechanical engineering, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (following are accountabilities included but not limited to):
- Performs equipment inspections at vendor and jobsite locations.
- Prepare mechanical equipment data sheets, specifications, requisitions, and drawings with sufficient detail to define the equipment scope and technical requirements.
- Perform pipe stress analysis and calculations to assess the integrity and reliability of piping systems under various operating conditions.
- Design, analyze, and evaluate mechanical systems and equipment used in natural gas processing plants.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide engineering support, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and implement solutions for optimal system performance.
- Implement requirements from various engineering standards, contracts, and proposal documents to define equipment scope and technical requirements.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost assessments for mechanical projects, identifying opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.
- Perform equipment sizing and design calculations as needed.
- Perform technical bid evaluations.
- Coordinate work with other engineers, designers, project managers, construction personnel and vendors.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes related to mechanical engineering in the natural gas sector.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge and understanding of mechanical engineering principles, practices, and design codes applicable to natural gas facilities.
- Ability to read Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams.
- Ability to create and maintain equipment specification data sheets.
- Ability to review and approve vendor calculations and drawings.
- Knowledge of and ability to interpret ASME Section VIII, B31.3, and B31.5.
- Knowledge of other related codes and standards

Education, Training and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering required; EIT or PE license preferred.
- 5 years of experience in a mechanical engineering role required; Oil and gas industry experience preferred.
- Experience with mechanical design software and tools, including 3D modeling and finite element analysis preferred. CAD experience a plus.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards relevant to mechanical engineering in natural gas processing.
Work Context
- Regularly works in the Corporate Office in Whitehouse but may be required to visit fabrication facilities or client locations as needed. At those locations, must be able to work in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and other particles.
