General Summary of the Position
The Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing natural gas projects, ensuring they meet technical, budget, and schedule requirements while maintaining compliance with industry standards. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop project plans, solve engineering challenges, and support construction, commissioning, and startup phases.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (following are accountabilities included but not limited to):
- Assists Project Manager in development of project schedule with process engineering, drafting and design, fabrication and assembly (shop and field)
- Assists in setting and following up on deadlines and deliverables, utilizing Microsoft Project and Excel software, as well as any other technology tools the company implements.
- Provides technical support throughout the length of the project to the Project Manager such as P&ID review, material and equipment specifications, bidding and vendor selection, while interacting with other departments to ensure project stays on time and on budget.
- Manages administrative responsibilities such as reviewing and processing of change orders, overseeing completion and submittal of drawings, and reviewing and approving invoices.
- Prepares reports for internal management review and analysis and for external reporting for government agencies, accountants, and insurance brokers.
- Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators, and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain project efficiency.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including design, operations, and construction, to develop and execute project plans.
- Maintains positive relationships with existing clients and operates in a manner that is consistent with company core values.
- Relates to clients, vendors, and subcontractors in a professional, courteous and respectful manner, appropriately responding to their feedback.
- Protects the company by keeping information confidential and up-to-date.

Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of design programs used in designing gas processing plants.

- Preferred experience with Primavera 6.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of programs. Microsoft Project desired.
Education, Training and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in project engineering, preferably in the natural gas or energy industry.
- Experience with engineering design, procurement, construction, and commissioning processes.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and safety standards.
Work Context
- Regularly works in the Corporate Office in Whitehouse but may be required to visit construction facility, vendor facilities, or field construction locations as needed to support the Project Manager. At those locations, must be able to work in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and other particles.
- During field construction process, may be traveling to the field more often, and for extended periods of time, to work closely with Project Manager, field leadership and field teams to support the project during this phase.
