Responsibilities:
- Set up and operation of machine tools such as mills, lathes, grinders, and drill press.
- Read blueprints and machines metallic and nonmetallic parts to print tolerances.
- Calculate feeds and speeds, adjusts for cutting conditions to optimize processing.
- Perform PM on machines and maintains the housekeeping of the work area to the 5S shop standard.
- Clearly communicate technical information to other machinists and managers. Note: This list of responsibilities is by no means inclusive; however, it is intended to be a guideline for activities. Requirements: 1-3 years prior industrial experience preferred. Trained to run typical shop equipment such as lathe, mill, grinder, and drill press. Educational Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent required.
