Job Description:
As a Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support for a wide range of third-party data platforms. Your expertise will ensure the smooth operation and optimization of these platforms, enabling our business to make data-driven decisions effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide platform support for various third-party data platforms, including but not limited to DataStage, SAS, Tableau, PowerBI, Business Objects, DataIku, Denodo, Atacamma, Alation, BigID, CloudPak, NiFi, Kafka, Lenses, and Confluence.
Maintain the company platform uptime, performance, stability, and scalability
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the supported platforms, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and maintain data platforms within the existing infrastructure.
Develop and maintain Bash scripts to automate routine tasks and improve system efficiency.
Monitor platform performance using solutions such as Dynatrace, identifying and addressing potential issues proactively.
Continual improvement and fine-tuning of various alerting and monitoring systems.
Provide guidance and support to end-users, ensuring they can effectively utilize the data platforms.
Document processes, procedures, and best practices for platform support and maintenance.
Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in data platforms and related technologies.
Lead platform related projects (including planning, communicating, and executing) such as migration efforts to new platforms or decommissioning obsolete platforms.
Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems.
Proficiency in writing and maintaining Bash scripts.
Experience with monitoring solutions such as Dynatrace.
