What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host/Hostess/Food Runner position at Jawbone Group LLC?
The Durham is looking for a multi-tasker with great people skills this summer! The Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting and seating customers upon entering the restaurant, answering the phone to take reservations, calculating and quoting accurate wait times and assisting other staff to reduce table turn times. Keep floors, entry, and aisle ways clean and free of debris. Assist in bussing tables, when we are in a wait or in need of a table immediately. Provide guests with right of way and assist guests needing directions around the restaurant. Genuinely thank all departing guests for dining with us and welcome all guests joining us. Be familiar with all restaurant information to be able to answer any guest questions or address any concerns. Answer all phone calls and fulfill any guest's needs. Be able to place calls on hold when needed or direct the call to the proper department. Communicate any important information to the managers on duty. All hosts must be familiar with our hours of operation, menu items, price range, directions, contact information, and all other basic restaurant information. In addition to restaurant specific details, the host should be able to provide information on daily menu additions, musical talent performances, and any cocktail or wine features for the evening. As a food runner, you will assist servers in getting food delivered to correct tables in a timely manner as well as refilling customer drinks and meeting customer needs from cutlery to condiments.
