What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dirt Foreman position at JAX DIRTWORKS INC?
Responsible for running the day-to-day operations on a construction site. Directs a crew as a working foreman and performs skilled work and related work as required. May operate a variety of heavy construction equipment.
Roles and Responsibilities
· Responsible and accountable for the safety of the crew under his/her direction; ensure all company employees and subcontractors are adhering to company safety policies and guidelines
· Tracking and recording daily production of the dirt crew and reporting back to the superintendent.
· Inputting daily logbooks, time sheets and other job-related paperwork.
· Attend and facilitate coordination, production and safety meetings.
· Communicate with onsite subcontractors, superintendent, and project manager
· Ensure job equipment and tools are maintained in good working order and are safe for use.
· Participate in training and other forms of development to strengthen technical, safety and other skills.
· Manage, supervise and coordinate onsite work crew
· Supervise installation and completion of work on time and budget.
· Maintain a clean job site: ensure all tools and equipment are picked up and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.
· Operate construction equipment as required.
· Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Bring problems to the attention of the Superintendent, Safety Director or HR as appropriate
- Must be proactive in trouble shooting and maintain the work environment without compromise to any required regulations, quality of products or safe work practices
- Responsible for daily time and quantity tracking
- Have the ability to effectively follow through on verbal and written instructions
- Motivated to independently solve problems and seek opportunities to improve operations
- Must be able to communicate with company and inspection staff in a professional way
· Qualifications and Education Requirements
5 to 10 years managing large civil projects with large crews.
Salary : $80,000 - $95,000
