What are the responsibilities and job description for the Loader Operator position at Jax Dirtworks Inc?
Works with the Underground Pipe crew. Perform tasks involving physical labor on roads, highways, residential/commercial areas, and heavy construction projects. Operate a variety of hand and power tools. Clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, clean up rubble and debris and remove waste materials. Operate Wheel Loader. Assist other field personnel. Perform a variety of duties on construction projects, transferring from one task to another as directed.
- Roles and Responsibilities
- Cut, measure, and hook pipes
- Bolt, nail, align, and block up under forms
- Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications
- Operate Wheel Loader
- Level earth to fine grade specifications
- Look ahead to see what next steps are needed
- Familiarity with Trench Safety and Job Site Safety
- Maintain and secure a clean job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards
- Efficiently & safely load and unload delivery trucks with a loader and haul, hoist, handle, and store materials
- Minor grade work as needed
- Qualifications and Education Requirements
- 1 year loader experience required
- High School Diploma, GED, Trade School or the equivalent preferred
- One year’s experience in Civil Underground
- Safety minded
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time, and perform strenuous physical labor in adverse field conditions
- Must be able to work in Duval, Nassau, Clay and St Johns County
